I had to drive Mackenzie to Pioneer Girls tonight, as well as go to a client's home. On the way there, we were astounded by one of the most beautiful sunsets I have EVER seen in my entire life. I stopped at the stoplight and took pictures with my cell phone camera (the other drivers must've thought I was NUTS!!!). After dropping Mackenzie off, I drove to a nearby church that sits on top of a hill and took more pictures from there. In real life, the colors were MUCH more vivid, especially the oranges and reds. The quality is only so-so because of using the cellphone camera, but I hope you'll enjoy these anyway!

Welcome to the world!
With the beginning of the school year, recovering from the last wedding, and planning for my upcoming trip to Honduras, I haven't had much of an opportunity to write lately. However, I just needed to say -- welcome to the world, baby Andrew (born at home Friday, Sept. 17, weighing in at 8 lbs., 14 oz.) and baby Zoey (born last night, Sept. 19, at the birth center, 8 lbs. 12 1/2 oz.) Thanks to their wonderful families for allowing me to be part of their birth!
And now to get some of those postpartum visits done (and catch up on some SLEEP!!!)

Growing up, branching out!
Mackenzie's finally old enough to attend the jr/sr high classes in our homeschooling group (Cedar Brook Academy). Today was the big day -- her first day of junior high classes! Does she look just a little bit excited to you?
This year, she'll be in the advanced orchestra (playing violin); she'll be taking junior high study skills, junior high improvisation; and watercolor/print making. She's also considering taking journalism -- a last-minute change of mind on her part. We'll talk with the teacher a bit more tomorrow and make a firm decision.
But either way -- today was huge and exciting for her! My "baby" is growing up!!
